History
Rama Varma Thampuran, the King of the Cochin Kingdom divided the land and gave it for two Christian settlements for worship in order to avoid the dispute among them. Both groups have their own churches known as "KIZHAKKE PALLI and PADINJARE PALLI" till they build their common church named ST. THOMAS CHURCH during 1970's
Named after the Apostle St Thomas. The church has plenty of stories behind it. Of these the famous are the unification of the east and west churches. This is one of the biggest church in Asia. & it can accommodate around 5000 ppl at a time. This church was built from the Statue of St Sebastin which was found by the the boatmen who were on the trip to cochin for their supplies.
